I'm sure everyone knows Chicago is known as the "Windy City" due to the breezy nature of the city. Between the skyskrapers and the lake, doing one's hair is pretty much pointless. Honestly, Within 1.5 blocks of the lake is unlike anything casual "Chicagoans" can imagine. Even with a couple of miles of the lake is much windier than any of the suburbs. Now you might be thinking, well you have permanently wind-swept hair, big deal. On the plus side, it probably decreases the humidity and the sweat caused from walking. True. Very True.
Here's what you might be missing: think of the garbage, pollen, dust and small pollution... It gets whipped around and hurts as it strikes one face. Or lands in your eye. It's not pleasant. Today it almost felt like sleet/hail pelting one in the face. Obviously, it wasn't cold or anything but it still stings. Its just something you might not think of when you hear the windy city that you might want to be aware of.
And Laila Ali is the world's least feminine woman. However, I would not want to run into her in a dark street. At night. Alone. However, I would put my $$ on her over any neighborhood thug. No doubt.
